In August, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck 17 Russian air defense systems, more than 30 command posts, over 20 warehouses, and six bridges, according to Ukraine's Ministry of Defense.
How many targets were hit in a month
Throughout August, the Defense Forces continued striking facilities that support Russia's war machine. During this period, Ukrainian forces disabled 17 air defense systems, more than 30 command posts, over 20 warehouses, and 6 bridges.
These results are part of a broader campaign aimed at weakening Russia's operational rear and military capabilities.
The destruction of air defense systems, radar stations, and electronic warfare systems weakens the protection of the enemy's rear. This creates opportunities for further strikes on other targets.
Which air defense systems were hit
In August, the Defense Forces struck positions of the S-400, Pantsir, Tor, Buk-M3, and Strela-10 surface-to-air missile systems. Several Russian radar stations and electronic warfare systems were also hit.
Another focus of the strikes was the infrastructure of enemy unmanned systems. Ukrainian forces targeted storage and launch sites for attack drones, as well as command posts and ground-based relay stations.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders struck eight enemy infrastructure facilities, including the strategic port of Makhachkala, through which Russia transported Iranian Shahed drones to the front.
It is Russia's only ice-free deep-water port on the Caspian Sea.
On September 8, drones attacked the Saratov oil refinery, one of the oldest facilities of its kind in Russia.
A fire broke out after the strike, and the regional governor confirmed damage to civilian infrastructure and casualties.
