Ukraine received only half of the promised weapons from the United States. Europe's assistance to the Ukrainian army was no less, says President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Ukrainian Radio.

“There are various reports from different institutions, both the Ministry of Defense and Intelligence, etc. I would only say that we have not received half of them. It seems to me that this is an important element when we talk about who is helping. Europe helped no less. And this is an important element,” Zelenskyy said.

He adds that the United States has increased weapons production, the power of its army, and replenished its arsenals. And Ukraine helped them with this.

“In many ways, they received answers from us. They have gained experience from the living example of another nation, and the Europeans too,” the head of state emphasized.

US assistance to Ukraine

The United States is one of Ukraine's most important allies. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Washington has been providing the Ukrainian army with military assistance and training.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine received armored vehicles, tanks, MLRS, long-range missiles, ammunition, air defense systems, and other weapons from the United States.

According to media reports, Joe Biden's administration plans to transfer the remaining $6 billion in military aid to Ukraine, before Biden leaves the White House.

The current US administration also wants to approve additional funding for Ukraine for 2025. However, Congress is not yet sure whether it will be able to pass a resolution.
