The Russian army is attempting to expand its bridgehead near the settlements of Serebrianka and Dronivka. The situation northeast of Siversk remains extremely difficult, according to the 7th Air Assault Corps.

Despite the pressure, units of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps continue to hold their positions and inflict losses on Russian forces in both manpower and equipment.

According to the brigade, Russian troops are not stopping attempts to transfer personnel across the Siverskyi Donets River from the Serebrianske forestry area. Over the past two days alone, drone units of the 81st Brigade destroyed two boats carrying enemy landing troops.

The enemy’s key objective remains full control over the settlements of Serebrianka and Dronivka. If captured, these villages could be used as staging areas to build up troops and equipment, followed by further advances and attempts to seize high ground near Zakytne and Platonivka.

Video footage of combat operations by units of the 81st Brigade near Serebrianka and along the Dronivka–Zakytne axis has also been released. The footage shows, among other things, the destruction of Russian troops during an attempted landing from an armored combat vehicle.

Situation in Siversk

On December 11, Russian leader Vladimir Putin once again claimed alleged “successes” by the Russian army, publicly announcing the “capture” of Siversk in the Donetsk region. However, these claims do not reflect the real situation on the battlefield.

As early as December 10, Ukrainian forces stated that despite the difficult situation around Siversk, information about Russian control over the city was fake. Defense Forces continue fighting for the city and are inflicting significant losses on the enemy as it attempts to break into the settlement.

On December 12, Russian propaganda received another rebuttal. Command of the National Guard of Ukraine’s 2nd Corps Khartiia reported a successful Ukrainian counterattack near Kupiansk. According to these reports, more than 200 Russian troops were trapped in the city, Kupiansk was almost completely cleared, and enemy losses during the counteroffensive exceeded 1,000 killed.

Earlier reports also noted that Russian forces had intensified operations along the Siverskyi Donets River, attempting river crossings at several points. The goal of these actions is to penetrate Zakytne and secure dominant heights, control of which is critical for the defense of Ukrainian positions.
