Ukraine forms team to develop monitoring mechanism for 30-day truce

Ukraine has begun forming a national team that will work on algorithms to monitor a possible 30-day truce, says the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha at a press conference.
Immediately after returning from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Ukrainian delegation reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results of the meeting with the American side.
“We have already begun to form a national team that will develop appropriate algorithms for proper control of a possible truce. This is an extremely complicated process,” he said.
Sybiha added that the front line is now more than 1,300 kilometers long. Ukraine had a negative experience within the Minsk process when Russia violated the ceasefire 25 times, so it is important to be prepared for possible provocations.
“So now everything will be aimed at ensuring that the Ukrainian side is ready with the appropriate teams, with the appropriate developments and modalities. I mean, including the future vision of an agreement or action plan to achieve a just peace for Ukraine. Of course, the parameters and scope of the security guarantees package for Ukraine,” he added.
30-day truce in Ukraine
On March 11, the American and Ukrainian delegations met in Saudi Arabia and reached some agreements. Washington offered Kyiv a 30-day ceasefire on the front line.
Yesterday, March 13, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow to discuss a ceasefire with Russia. After the talks, Vladimir Putin said that he “supports” the US idea to introduce a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, but he is concerned about “nuances.”
