Ukraine has evacuated 68 more people from Lebanon, including 28 Ukrainians and 40 foreign nationals, according to the Telegram channel of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

"On October 9, following the orders of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the fourth phase of evacuation from Lebanon was carried out, where the security and economic situation has worsened. Ukrainians and citizens from seven other countries were rescued," the statement said.

It was noted that the operation was conducted by personnel from the intelligence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

According to the intelligence, the plane from Beirut has already landed in Rzeszów, Poland, evacuating 28 Ukrainians, 19 adults and 9 children, who are now heading to Ukraine. They also managed to bring two dogs.

As part of the mission, Ukraine helped 40 foreign nationals from seven countries leave Lebanon - 26 adults and 14 children.

Thanks to Ukraine's efforts, the following citizens found safety:

  • Argentina: 6 people
  • Mexico: 6
  • Moldova: 8
  • Romania: 1
  • Czechia: 5
  • Colombia: 2
  • Lebanon: 12

"Thanks to coordination with international partners and the support of friendly countries, the operation was conducted efficiently and without complications," the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine added.

Evacuation from Lebanon

In the summer, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine was one of the first countries in the world to evacuate its citizens from Lebanon.

Specifically, on September 4, Ukraine evacuated 25 citizens, 14 women and 11 children, from Lebanon. The evacuation was organized and carried out by the Defense Intelligence of Intelligence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Last week, Ukraine successfully returned 179 individuals from Lebanon, including 134 Ukrainian citizens and 45 foreign nationals.
