Ukrainian developers have created the Drone Squad Fury drone, which can drop mortar rounds and also fire an assault rifle at enemy targets, a representative of OM Defense Systems said in a comment to the publication Militarnyi.

The new development was presented at the Eurosatory.

According to a representative of the defense company, their drone can be used as a platform for various types of payloads. In particular, it can carry mortar munitions weighing up to 15 kg, as well as a mounted assault rifle.

The drone can also be equipped with various communication systems, including a Starlink terminal.

The version equipped with an assault rifle was developed specifically for Ukrainian security services, but it did not demonstrate sufficient effectiveness.

"We made it, delivered it to them, they tested it, but eventually they still switched to the classic method of dropping munitions. Here we mainly wanted to show that we can implement virtually any solution on this drone," clarified a representative of OM Defense Systems.

New generation of interceptor drones

Ukraine previously presented a new generation of AI-powered unmanned aerial vehicles.

The company SkyFall has developed P1-SUN Long interceptor drones capable of independently detecting aerial targets at distances of up to 800 meters.

The artificial intelligence system of these UAVs was trained on more than 10,000 video recordings of real combat interceptions.

After operator confirmation, the system automatically locks on, pursues, and destroys the target. The P1-SUN Long variant already has dozens of confirmed hits against Russian kamikaze drones such as the Shahed.
