Despite tensions with Washington, intelligence sharing between Ukraine and the United States continues, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said at the Warsaw Security Forum.

During the forum, Sybiha was asked whether Ukraine was still receiving intelligence from the United States. The minister confirmed that cooperation was ongoing.

“You’re probably asking whether we receive intelligence from the American side. Yes, we continue this cooperation,” the foreign minister said.

His statement came amid reports that US President Donald Trump’s administration had threatened to limit military support for Ukraine and intelligence sharing.

What Sybiha said about the overnight air raid alert

The minister also commented on an air raid alert issued overnight into Tuesday. According to Sybiha, the warning came late.

He attributed the delay to the specific type of weapon Russia had used. However, he provided no further details about the weapon involved.

Why tensions have risen between the US and Ukraine

Tensions between Kyiv and Washington have escalated over US President Donald Trump’s demand that Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries. The US side has linked these attacks, among other things, to rising fuel prices.

Against this backdrop, Trump announced an agreement with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to increase supplies of Russian diesel fuel to US and global markets.

Axios later reported, citing a Ukrainian official, that US representatives had threatened to cut off intelligence sharing with Ukraine during negotiations if Ukrainian forces did not stop striking Russian oil refineries.

At the same time, US intelligence support is important for Ukraine’s defense. Presidential adviser Serhii Beskrestnov, known by the call sign “Flash,” explained that American intelligence helps, among other things, warn of preparations for and launches of Russian ballistic missiles, giving people time to reach shelters.
