The escalation by Russia in the war against Ukraine would be impossible without the support of its allies in the "axis of evil," reported Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

As Syrskyi said, he took part via video conference in the 30th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG).

The Commander-in-Chief thanked foreign partners and their nations for solidarity, political support, and military assistance to Ukraine at a time when Russia is only increasing pressure on the battlefield and intensifying air strikes on peaceful Ukrainian cities.

He emphasized that Ukraine highly values the efforts of leaders and diplomats aimed at peacefully resolving Russia's war against Ukraine through all international platforms and political formats.

"At the same time, military efforts are the key aspect of forcing Moscow to a just peace in Ukraine. The enemy must realize the futility of continuing hostilities and feel a real threat to its ruling regime in the event of prolonging the war," Syrskyi noted.

He stressed that the Defense Forces of Ukraine are doing everything possible – restraining the enemy on the eastern flank of united Europe, exhausting it on the battlefield, and repelling missile and drone strikes on residential areas and critical infrastructure.

"The escalation carried out by the Kremlin would be impossible without support from its allies in the axis of evil. Therefore, at this stage, military and financial assistance from Ukraine's partners has acquired critical importance for the success of our joint strategy," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized.

Syrskyi also called on partners to increase the scale of international military assistance, primarily for the development of air and missile defense capabilities, as well as to provide long-range strike capabilities.

In particular, the European Union confirmed its commitment to supply Ukraine with 2 million rounds of ammunition, of which 80% has already been collected. It also concerns the possibility of allocating €6.6 billion from the EU Peace Facility for the purchase of American weapons for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, the EU will invest in the defense industry through the SAFE mechanism and is preparing to allocate €4 billion in October and November.

Germany will deliver two Patriot systems and finance the purchase of Ukrainian drones worth €300 million. The United Kingdom will fund the production of several thousand long-range strike drones, which are expected to arrive in Ukraine within the year.

Norway will allocate $8 billion in 2026 and supply weapons for a Ukrainian brigade being jointly equipped by Scandinavian and Baltic countries. Denmark is launching joint production of long-range weapons with Ukraine.

Canada announced funding of more than $800 million for various aid programs, including the development of capability coalitions. Sweden is working on its 20th aid package, while Czechia is preparing to deliver more than one million rounds of ammunition in 2025.
