Ukraine can produce over 3 million drones annually
Ukraine can produce more than 3 million drones of various types in a year. But it requires funding and assistance from partners, according to Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Gvozdiar, Suspilne reports.
“We have quite large production capacities, we can produce more than 3 million drones of various types today. But we need funding,” the official said.
The state can cover only a part of the needs in order to produce such a large number of drones. International partners help to cover the rest of the needs. According to Gvozdiar, Canada will purchase some Ukrainian-made drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Negotiations are underway with other countries, including the UK.
“We have developed enough capacities, both public and private, to produce various types of products for drones. With more than a million drones, it is clear that they need more than a million pieces of ammunition,” she added.
The Ministry for Strategic Industries is working to produce drones with ammunition, and they will be unified next.
Weapons production in Ukraine
During the full-scale war, Ukraine increased the production of domestic weapons. About 500 state-owned and private companies produce weapons in Ukraine. They make drones, ammunition, armored vehicles, parts, and other weapons.
Ukraine has also established arms production with partners, some of which are located abroad for greater security.
For example, Ukraine has developed a robot that can evacuate two wounded soldiers from the frontline at once. The machine can also perform other tasks.
