Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha described the Russian strike on a Coca-Cola plant in the Kyiv region as a deliberate attack on American business, according to a statement by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
How the Foreign Ministry assessed the strike
According to Sybiha, the attack on the Coca-Cola plant is part of a broader Russian strategy aimed at damaging the US economy and pushing American companies out of international markets.
"The Russian strike on the Coca-Cola facility in the Kyiv region was no isolated incident. It is yet another deliberate attack on American business interests," he stressed.
Appeal to the US
The foreign minister emphasized that "only strength will put Moscow in its place." In this context, he once again called on the US House of Representatives to pass the Sanctioning Russia Act.
What is known about the attack
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian forces attacked the Coca-Cola plant in the village of Velyka Dymerka in the Kyiv region with drones.
It is one of the largest soft drink production facilities in Europe. According to the head of state, Russia could not have been unaware that it was striking an American enterprise.
"Coca-Cola has apparently become such an enemy to them that they are burning it with Shaheds. A clear Russian signal to America," Zelenskyy said.
The Coca-Cola plant in Velyka Dymerka was attacked by drones on September 3, and a fire broke out at the facility after the strike.
