Ukraine expects practical results from the meeting of the Contact Group in the Ramstein format. If the United States had nothing to offer, the meeting would not have been convened, according to the head of Ukraine's mission to NATO, Natalia Halibarenko.

"I expect practical results based on a very simple logic — if the US administration had nothing to offer Ukraine, they would not have convened Ramstein," she stated.

According to Halibarenko, the upcoming meeting in the Ramstein format will not just be a political matter, meant to "say thanks and bid farewell to the current administration." The head of Ukraine's mission to NATO believes that the United States is, in a way, fulfilling the agreements and promises it made to Ukraine.

The Ramstein meeting

On Thursday, January 9, the 25th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group will take place. It will be held in person at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The meeting will be chaired by US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

This will be the last Ramstein meeting involving representatives of Joe Biden's administration.

The Pentagon noted that at Ramstein, discussions will focus not only on the current needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces but also on developing a defense capability plan for Ukraine through 2027.

Moreover, Western media reports suggest that the US will announce a significant aid package for Ukraine during the Ramstein format meeting.
