Ukraine awaits new IMF payout: Here’s the number

Ukraine expects to continue cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. The next tranche of $487 million may be disbursed in June, according to Ukraine's Finance Ministry.
“Today, we are working with the IMF mission on the eighth review of the program and expect a positive result for Ukraine,” Marchenko said during a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the G7 financial bloc meeting in Canada.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the parties discussed Ukraine's progress in mobilizing domestic budget revenues, maintaining debt sustainability, the pace of external financing, and the implementation of the National Revenue Strategy of Ukraine.
"Effective implementation of the Strategy will contribute to increased revenues, improved tax compliance, the fight against tax evasion, and support Ukraine’s EU accession process," the statement said.
For her part, Georgieva assured that the Fund would continue to support Ukraine, the Finance Ministry said.
"We discussed Ukraine’s economic resilience in the face of adversity, the importance of policy agility, and essential reforms supporting domestic revenue mobilization and governance," the IMF chief wrote.
IMF mission
From May 20 to 27, an IMF mission is visiting Ukraine for the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, a four-year, $15.6 billion Extended Fund Facility for Ukraine.
As a result of the review, Ukraine will receive another tranche of about $487 million, the Ministry of Finance reported.
For 2025, the IMF EFF program provides up to $ 2.3 billion based on the results of four reviews. The first $400 million went to the state budget in March this year. In total, the state budget of Ukraine has already received eight tranches under the program, totaling about $10.1 billion.
