The Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, conducted the third round of negotiations with the USA regarding the agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine. The parties, in particular, noted significant progress.

As Yermak stated, the recent approval of the $61 billion aid package for Ukraine by the USA significantly expedited the negotiation process. The Head of the Office of the President noted that the agreement could be signed in the near future.

"The parties have substantively discussed the draft agreement, noted significant progress following the key provisions of the document, and adjusted the algorithm for further actions," clarified the Office of the President.

Additionally, the Head of the Office of the President added that the agreement will lay the groundwork for long-term cooperation between Ukraine and the USA in the defense sector.

Negotiations with the USA

Negotiations regarding the agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine with the USA began as early as August of last year. Since then, only two rounds of negotiations have taken place.

In January, the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, noted that the document would be "significant and special."

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that the agreement would be signed after the US Congress supports a bill with new funding for aid to Ukraine.
