Ukraine and US agree on almost all key details of rare earth minerals - Deputy Prime Minister

Ukrainian and US teams are in the final stages of negotiations regarding the minerals agreement. The negotiations have been very constructive, Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, reports.
According to Stefanishyna, nearly all key details have been finalized during the negotiations.
"We are committed to completing this swiftly to proceed with its signature. We hope both US and UA leaders might sign and endorse it in Washington the soonest to showcase our commitment for decades to come," the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration stated.
Ukraine-US agreement
Recently, the US government proposed that Ukraine sign an agreement involving the transfer of part of Ukraine's rare earth minerals for the benefit of the United States.
At the time, Washington proposed creating a $500 billion fund where revenues from the sale of rare earth minerals would be directed. Under the initiative, the US would receive economic and managerial rights in this fund. According to US President Donald Trump, this would allow Ukraine to "repay its debt" for American assistance.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the US had provided $100 billion in aid to Ukraine and that he does not intend to recognize grants as debts.
Earlier, US officials claimed that Ukraine and the US were expected to sign the minerals agreement last week. However, according to Sky News, Zelenskyy is not ready to sign the agreement with the US due to "problematic issues."
