Ukraine and Poland to hold 'agricultural' talks in December
The agriculture ministers of Ukraine and Poland are scheduled to meet in December, with representatives of industry organizations joining the discussions. The main topic on the agenda will be the current situation in agricultural markets, according to PAP.
On Tuesday, November 12, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitalii Koval, held talks in a video format with Poland’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski. The previous meeting between the agricultural heads took place in Warsaw on October 3, 2024.
Ukrainian Minister Vitalii Koval said that trade in Ukrainian grain and oilseeds has largely returned to traditional export routes through the Black Sea.
Agricultural relations between Ukraine and Poland
Ukraine and Poland have been holding regular agricultural discussions following large-scale protests by Polish farmers. These protests included blockades of truck traffic at the Ukrainian-Polish border. The situation has since stabilized.
The farmers claimed that Ukrainian grain had caused a collapse in domestic prices in Poland, forcing local producers to operate at a loss.
This summer, Poland began inspecting over 70 companies suspected of fraud involving Ukrainian grain.
