Ukraine and Norway to jointly produce domestic drones. Defense ministers from both countries have signed the agreement, according to Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"This is an important step that will expand our capabilities and strengthen Ukraine's defense," Shmyhal noted.

The next phase involves quickly launching a pilot production line in 2026 while simultaneously working to scale up capacity.

Shmyhal added, "Ukraine will share its expertise and innovations with Norway. In return, we will gain a strong manufacturing base to equip our forces with modern drones, along with research and design collaboration with leading Norwegian institutions."

The project exemplifies Ukraine's cooperation with international partners, enhancing the defense capabilities of all free-world countries.

Ukraine already produces drones with partners

Earlier, the UK signed an agreement with Ukraine to jointly develop and manufacture advanced military equipment, including technology exchange to boost both nations' security.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine, together with the US, has started producing interceptor drones capable of countering Russian attack drones.

Ukraine is currently working to counter Russian guided bombs. Several companies are developing specialized interceptor drones, and Ukrainian engineers have also created low-cost interceptors that are already taking down hundreds of Russian Shaheds.
