Ukraine advances in UEFA coefficient table - See which countries slipped

Ukrainian clubs had a productive week in European competitions, which positively affected the country's position in the UEFA coefficient table.
Who remains in the race?
After the completion of the second qualifying round of European competitions, three Ukrainian clubs continue to participate, each representing different UEFA tournaments.
All three teams had a highly productive second qualifying round. Dynamo, Shakhtar, and Polissia won their matches and advanced to the next stage.
Dynamo Kyiv confidently defeated Malta's Hamrun Spartans, winning both legs with a score of 3:0. The capital club continues its path in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Shakhtar Donetsk, currently competing in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers, also achieved excellent results. After winning both matches against Turkish side Beşiktaş, the "miners" maintain their chances of playing in the autumn part of the European season and earning important points for the coefficient table.
Polissia Zhytomyr, despite losing the first match to Andorran club Santa Coloma, managed a convincing win in the return leg and progressed to the next round of the UEFA Conference League. In the upcoming round, the team will face Hungarian club Paks, a direct competitor in the context of the UEFA coefficient table.
These three clubs are currently Ukraine's only representatives in European competitions. Their performance will determine whether our association can improve its ranking in the UEFA standings.
The only exception was Oleksandriia, which lost to the Serbian side Partizan in two matches. This elimination not only reduced the number of Ukrainian clubs in European competitions but also cost us potential additional points in a matchup against a rival association in the UEFA coefficient table.
Competitor results and changes in the table
None of the rival associations managed to avoid losses this week. The most significant changes:
- Serbia lost two clubs – Novi Pazar and Radnički 1923
- Slovenia lost Koper
- Bulgaria lost Cherno More
- Hungary – Puskás Akadémia
- Azerbaijan – Zira
- Slovakia – Košice and Žilina
- Romania – CFR Cluj
Despite a strong week for Ukraine, the country has not yet moved up in the ranking. However, there was no drop either, which is already a positive outcome.
New ranking position
After the updated coefficient table, the positions are as follows:
- Serbia – 21.375
- Hungary – 21.000
- Romania – 20.875
- Slovakia – 20.875
- Slovenia – 19.594
- Ukraine – 19.225
- Azerbaijan – 18.750
- Russia – 18.299
- Bulgaria – 17.350
Thus, Ukraine still has a chance to climb the table in the upcoming rounds.
The upcoming Polissia vs. Paks match could significantly affect the standings, as the result will be important not only for our association but also for one of the main competitors
