UK to send 5,000 more missiles for Ukraine's air defense

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a new deal to support Ukraine. The deal allows the country to use £1.6 billion in British export finance to purchase an additional 5,000 air defense missiles, reports Sky News.
According to Starmer, the deal will create jobs in the UK defense sector and be significant for Ukraine's protection.
"This will be vital for protecting critical infrastructure and strengthening Ukraine," Starmer said.
He also stated that Britain is ready to defend peace in Ukraine. This includes "boots on the ground" and "planes in the air."
"We are ready to do it with others," the British Prime Minister emphasized.
Earlier, during a press conference, Starmer specifically mentioned that in the event of a peace agreement, the country would send its own defense capabilities to Ukraine. This includes military contingents to prevent any future threats to Ukraine’s borders.
"We will go further to develop a coalition that is willing to defend a deal in Ukraine and guarantee peace. Not every nation will feel able to contribute, but that can't mean we sit back. Instead, those willing will intensify planning now with real urgency. The UK is prepared to back this with boots on the ground and planes in the air," Starmer said.
