Ukraine's allied countries cannot allow a weak agreement to end the war, as in the case of the Minsk agreements, states UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to The Times.

Starmer assured that he is ready to deploy a contingent and aviation to ensure peace between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, he pointed to the failure of previous ceasefire agreements.

The prime minister reminded that the war in Ukraine did not start three years ago and that the 2022 invasion was "merely the latest and most brutal escalation."

According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to invade in 2022 demonstrated "calibre of his word."

Deployment of British troops to Ukraine

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has repeatedly stated that he is ready to send British troops to Ukraine to maintain peace, should a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia be reached.

Starmer also announced the creation of a coalition of countries willing to ensure peace in Ukraine, including those ready to deploy their military forces.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists that partners provide security guarantees before any truce with Russia. He has repeatedly emphasized that Russia has violated ceasefire agreements in the past and cannot be trusted.
