UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to resign on Monday. He also intends to present a clear timetable for his departure, according to the Reuters news agency.
According to Reuters, Starmer has concluded that his continued tenure in office is no longer possible.
He reached this conclusion after a series of conversations with government ministers, advisers, financial donors, and trade union leaders.
Reuters notes that the Prime Minister is currently discussing the matter with his wife at the official country residence of Chequers before making a final decision.
However, senior Labor Party officials expect a clear statement regarding his future to be made as early as Monday.
Earlier, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he would not leave his post, despite the Labor Party's crushing defeat in local elections and growing internal pressure.
At the same time, Starmer's own government has also been facing an escalating crisis. Recently, Health Minister Wes Streeting resigned, as did Defense Minister John Healey.
