The United Kingdom is considering its own proposals regarding the possibility of Ukraine targeting military facilities deep within Russia. These proposals are being developed as part of a victory plan, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine held a phone conversation with the Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin. Syrskyi briefed his counterpart on the battlefield situation.

The commanders also discussed strikes on Russian military facilities.

"We specifically discussed the potential to strike enemy military facilities in operational and strategic depth. Currently, the British side is working on its own proposals within the practical implementation of the victory plan," Syrskyi said.

The Commander-in-Chief also drew the UK's attention to violations of international humanitarian law and war crimes committed by Russian forces, as well as attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure and the indiscriminate mass bombardment of civilian targets.

According to Syrskyi, the main priorities of Ukraine-UK cooperation remain the supply of military equipment and weaponry, personnel training, and enhancing the effectiveness of high-tech weaponry.

Restrictions on strikes into Russia

Allies have imposed restrictions on Ukraine regarding the use of long-range weapons, specifically limiting strikes on targets deep within Russia. This pertains to the US and the UK, which have provided Ukraine with long-range missiles.

Ukraine is calling for the removal of these restrictions, arguing that the destruction of military facilities in Russia is part of self-defense.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges that a decision should not be delayed, as Russia is relocating its facilities deeper into its territory.
