UK-led Interflex trains over 56,000 Ukrainian troops as program marks 3 years

The Interflex program for training Ukrainian military personnel, which began in the United Kingdom in June 2022, has marked its third anniversary. Since then, 13 countries have joined the initiative, reports the Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The program started in June 2022 in the UK and now includes participation from 13 countries. The commander of Operation Interflex, Colonel Andy Boardman, says what impresses him most about the Ukrainians is their eagerness to learn.
"Their patriotism and motivation are really staggering. It is a privilege to work with them," he emphasized
According to reports, over the three years of the program's existence, more than 56,000 Ukrainian service members have completed training.
UK support for Ukraine
It is worth noting that the United Kingdom is one of Ukraine's key allies in the war against Russian aggression.
Since the full-scale invasion began, the UK has provided Ukraine with significant military aid. This includes Challenger 2 tanks, air defense systems, long-range Storm Shadow missiles, drones, ammunition, and training for Ukrainian troops.
In addition to weapons, the UK actively supports Ukraine on the diplomatic front. It is increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and providing financial assistance.
On June 4, ahead of the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, the UK announced a record aid package for Ukraine. According to Rustem Umerov, the Minister of Defense, the support will include:
- 100,000 drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of 2025;
- 140,000 artillery rounds and more.
