UK Foreign Office responds on assistance for Ukraine in drone interception
British Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated that the country's Air Force cannot shoot down drones over Ukraine as it did in Israel. This would provoke the risk of escalation and widescale war in Europe, according to Cameron.
Cameron says that using Royal Air Force aircraft to shoot down Russian drones over Ukraine would lead to a "dangerous escalation" of the conflict.
Britain shoots down Iranian drones in Israel
Israel claimed that Iran launched 170 drones, over 30 cruise missiles, and more than 120 ballistic missiles during an attack on Saturday evening.
The Prime Minister of Great Britain confirmed that Royal Air Force fighters shot down several Iranian drones that targeted Israeli assets over the weekend.
"We've done more than any other country individually to help the Ukrainians. We've trained over 60,000 Ukrainian troops, we were the first to give them anti-tank weapons, long-range artillery and tanks." he added.
However, he warned of the risks of using British military assets in direct confrontation with Russia. According to him, it is necessary to avoid NATO forces engaging in combat with Russian forces, as it would be a danger of escalation.
Iran attacks Israel
Iran attacked Israeli territory overnight on April 14 with hundreds of drones and missiles. The IDF reports that almost all of them were shot down, and the damage from the attack was officially termed insignificant by Israel.
US air defense systems in the Middle East have intercepted several Iranian drones.
