UEFA approves Euro 2028 schedule — Nine stadiums and a Wembley finale

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has officially confirmed the list of cities and stadiums that will host the matches of the 2028 European Championship, according to the organization's official website.
Where and when the tournament will take place
The European Championship will be held from June 9 to July 9, 2028, in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. A total of 24 national teams will take part.
The opening match will take place at the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff. The quarterfinals will be played in Cardiff, Glasgow, Dublin, and London.
The legendary Wembley Stadium in London will host both semifinals and the final. This venue previously hosted the decisive matches of the Euro 1996 and Euro 2020 tournaments, as well as Champions League finals.

In total, nine stadiums across eight cities will be used for Euro 2028.

London, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – 5 matches (4 in the group stage, round of 16)
Cardiff, National Stadium of Wales – 6 matches (opening match, 4 in the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinal)
Manchester, Etihad Stadium – 5 matches (4 in the group stage, round of 16)
Liverpool, Everton Stadium – 5 matches (4 in the group stage, round of 16)
Newcastle, St. James' Park – 5 matches (4 in the group stage, round of 16)
Birmingham, Villa Park – 4 matches (3 in the group stage, round of 16)
Glasgow, Hampden Park – 6 matches (4 in the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinal)
Dublin, Dublin Arena – 7 matches (5 in the group stage, round of 16, quarterfinal)
Hosts without guaranteed spots
Interestingly, despite being the hosts, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland will not receive automatic qualification for the tournament final stage.
All four teams will participate in the qualification round, which will run from March to November 2027.
The draw for the qualifying stage is scheduled for December 6, 2026, in Belfast.
