The United States is concerned about the activities of the Wagner PMC (Private Military Company) in Africa and Ukraine, states U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

"Of course, we are always concerned about the activities of the Wagner group, whether in Ukraine or in Africa," said the U.S. State Department spokesperson.

He mentioned that this is why the United States, together with its partners, has taken measures to hold members of the Wagner PMC accountable for their crimes.

What proceeded this

To summarize, according to British intelligence, after the presumed death of the leader of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, hundreds of mercenaries from the group began relocating to Ukraine individually and in small groups to participate in the war as part of various Russian units.

The Chief of the Press Service of the Eastern Military Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ilya Yevlash, reported that Wagner mercenaries were present in the territory of the Eastern Military Group. Currently, some of these mercenaries are renewing contracts with the Russian military and returning to Ukraine from Belarus.

The Institute for the Study of War also emphasized that mercenaries could once again pose a serious threat to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by coming under the command of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya).
