U.S. launches new missile strike on Houthi targets in Yemen, Reuters reports
The United States today, on January 16, again launched missiles at Yemen, targeting Houthi anti-ship missiles, reports Reuters.
As reported by two unnamed American officials to the new agency, the United States today, on January 16, targeted four Houthi anti-ship missiles in Yemen. More detailed details of the attack are currently unknown.
Houthi attacks on ships
Yemeni Houthis began attacking merchant vessels in the Red Sea and beyond back in November of last year. This occurred after the start of the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
In response, the United States and the United Kingdom launched missile strikes on targets in Yemen associated with the Houthis. Explosions were heard throughout the country.
Despite this, the Houthis continued to target ships off the coast of Yemen. Just yesterday, on January 15, they struck an American vessel.
The United States and the United Kingdom have repeatedly warned that if Houthi attacks persist, further strikes against the Houthis will follow.
