U.S. expresses concerns over Russia-North Korea talks, warns of consequences
The United States is concerned about negotiations between the Russian Federation and North Korea, according to the National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.
“We continue to urge North Korea to meet its public commitments not to support Russia’s war in Ukraine … There will certainly be repercussions,” Kirby said.
The spokesman notes that concerns arise because Russia could "actively promoting" the improvement of North Korea's missile program.
“We’ve got to see what shakes out of this meeting … We obviously have concerns about any burgeoning defence relationship between North Korea and Russia,” he added.
