The Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved significant results during the summer counteroffensive. The United States will continue to support Kyiv, stated the official representative of the U.S. Department of State, Daniel Cisek, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"As for the counteroffensive, Ukraine has reclaimed territory and opened maritime routes. This is a significant achievement. The Ukrainian military acted very bravely," he said.

According to Saisack, the U.S. government understands that the counteroffensive was challenging and that defense is easier. "Nevertheless, the U.S. government intends to continue supporting Ukraine," he added.

Assessing the situation on the front line, Saisack noted that constant contact between the U.S. and Ukrainian governments continues.

"Our government receives information about what is happening directly from President Zelenskyy, and we understand that this situation is difficult. However, the U.S. government believes that Ukraine's Armed Forces have already demonstrated their capabilities. Now we need to think about what comes next," he said.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) counteroffensive began in early June, freeing about ten settlements in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions over the summer.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine did not achieve the desired results during the summer UAF counteroffensive. "We wanted faster results. From that perspective, unfortunately, we did not achieve the desired results. And this is a fact," he said.

According to him, Ukraine did not receive all the necessary weapons from its allies, and limited forces did not allow for an offensive.
