U.S. appoints new infrastructure advisor in Ukraine

The United States has appointed a new infrastructure advisor in Ukraine, Robert Mariner, according to the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg.

Mariner, who has performed engineering work for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, will serve as an advisor on transportation issues in Ukraine. He has previously worked as an advisor to the transportation advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan.

Buttigieg, who met with Ukrainian officials to discuss the country's economic recovery and the impact of the war on supply chains, stated that Ukraine had requested the appointment of an American infrastructure advisor.

The U.S. Department of Transportation coordinates the work of similar advisors at U.S. embassies in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Visit of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation

Today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, who arrived in Kyiv on November 8th for an official visit.
