The US peace plan aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine was rejected by Moscow, not by Kyiv, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated on X.

"It is Russia who rejected the peace plan prepared by the US, not Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy," Tusk wrote.

He noted that Russia’s only response to the peace plan was continued missile strikes on Ukrainian cities.

"This is why the only solution is to strengthen pressure on Russia. And you all know it," the Polish prime minister stressed.

What Trump said

It should be recalled that US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Reuters that Ukraine, rather than Russia, was allegedly stalling a potential peace agreement.

In his view, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is ready to conclude a peace deal, while Ukraine is less willing.

When asked why US-led negotiations have so far failed to resolve Europe’s largest conflict since World War II, Donald Trump replied: "Zelenskyy."

As Reuters notes, Trump’s comments signal renewed frustration with the Ukrainian leader. Relations between the two presidents have long been unstable, although their interaction appeared to improve during the first year of Trump’s return to office.
