Tusk on Poland’s response to drone strikes

Poland is conducting an operation in response to multiple violations of its airspace, according to a post on X by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
He stated that the military has used weapons against the intruding objects.
"I am in constant contact with the President and the Minister of Defense. I have received a direct report from the operational commander," he wrote.
Donald Tusk also noted that Poland’s Minister of Defense is in “close contact” with NATO members and leaders.
Nighttime Shahed drone attack on Poland
On the night of Wednesday, September 10, Russian attack drones violated Polish airspace, prompting the deployment of aviation to repel the aerial threat.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported that aviation was engaged to ensure airspace security, while ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on the highest alert.
Data from Flightradar24 indicated that an F-35 fighter jet was also present in Polish airspace.
Airspace over four Polish airports was temporarily closed.
Deputy Defense Minister Czesław Tomczyk stated that an operation is underway to neutralize objects that violated and crossed the national border.
Previously, Polish airspace had also been breached by Russian drones. On the night of September 3, Poland scrambled aircraft in response to two drones entering its territory; they were not shot down as they did not pose a threat.
