US President Donald Trump announced effective negotiations toward signing a final peace agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip, according to his Truth Social page.

Trump stated that he is pleased to report very encouraging and productive discussions with the Middle Eastern community regarding Gaza.

“Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement. All of the Countries within the Region are involved, Hamas is very much aware of these discussions, and Israel has been informed at all levels, including Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu,” the president said.

Trump added that there is more goodwill and enthusiasm to reach an agreement, after so many decades, than he has ever seen before.

“Everyone is excited to put this period of Death and Darkness behind them. It is an Honor to be a part of this Negotiation. We must get the Hostages back, and get a PERMANENT AND LONGLASTING PEACE!” the US president wrote.

Trump’s new plan for the Gaza Strip

On September 25, Donald Trump presented a new peace plan to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The plan includes 21 points, among them a ceasefire, the release of all hostages by both sides, and the deployment of an international stabilization force in territory currently controlled by Israel.

Notably, Hamas will not participate in governing the enclave, and Gaza residents are not planned to be forcibly displaced. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to announce his position during a meeting with Trump on Monday, September 29.

Earlier, US Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced a breakthrough in negotiations to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Politico reported that during a meeting with Arab leaders, Trump reportedly promised not to allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
