Trump suggests US may exit Ukraine peace talks

US President Donald Trump, after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, hinted at the possibility of Washington's withdrawal from the talks, CNN reports.
According to Trump, during a conversation with Putin, he asked: "When are we going to end this bloodshed (the war in Ukraine - ed.), this blood bath?"
He also added that the US might "back away" from the negotiations if the White House believes it cannot help, adding that "very big egos" are involved.
"I tell you, big egos involved, but I think something’s going to happen. And if it doesn’t, I just back away and they’re going to have to keep going," Trump said.
When asked by reporters whether he requested a meeting with the Russian leader during the call, the US leader said the topic was discussed.
