Trump says when Russia's war against Ukraine could end

US President Donald Trump said that a settlement of Russia's war against Ukraine could be reached soon. He called this conflict the most difficult among those he has tried to end, according to C-SPAN.
The most difficult conflict
Trump said the United States continues to work on settling Russia's war against Ukraine. According to him, this conflict has proved to be the most difficult among the eight wars he says he has tried to end.
"You know, I ended eight conflicts. And the toughest one is between Russia and Ukraine because the leaders hate each other so much. But its all gonna end very soon," Trump said.
The US president also stressed the difficulty of the situation because of the relationship between the leaders of the two countries.
What Trump said
The statement was made during Trump's speech in Gastonia, North Carolina, on September 16, 2026. Trump did not specify what steps, in his view, would lead to an agreement or when this could happen.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump previously said that Russia's war against Ukraine could end before his presidential term expires in January 2029.
Earlier, Donald Trump also expressed confidence that Moscow and Kyiv would be able to reach an agreement that would allow the war to end.
The US House of Representatives has completed consideration of a bill imposing sanctions on Russia and Iran, giving the legislation final approval. It must now be signed by the US president. The bill was introduced by the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
