Trump says he will invite Zelenskyy to White House

US President Donald Trump has announced that he will invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House while speaking with journalists.
Trump told reporters that he would invite Zelenskyy to the White House, adding that the US wants to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
"I think it’s a big difference between the last visit you saw in the Oval Office, and that’s a total ceasefire. Ukraine has agreed to it, and hopefully, Russia will agree to it." the President said.
Zelenskyy-Trump dispute
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Washington on February 28, where he met with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
However, the two leaders clashed during a press interaction. Trump reacted sharply to Zelenskyy’s remark that the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine would be felt even in the US.
Their dispute triggered a series of events, including the US decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine and halt intelligence sharing between the two countries.
In response, Zelenskyy posted on X that Ukraine was ready to sit at the negotiating table as soon as possible. He also suggested a ceasefire with Russia in the air and at sea - a move that Trump praised.
Later, US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff claimed that Zelenskyy had apologized to Trump for their dispute at the White House.
