A new national poll in the US indicates that US President Donald Trump's approval rating has dropped to a historic low, according to Newsweek.
According to a YouGov poll, the overall approval rating of Donald Trump's performance as president stands at 38%, while 59% of Americans disapprove of his work.
The net approval rating of the US president's economic policy has dropped to -29% — the lowest level in polling history. This is even worse than during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Trump was serving his first term as president.
Additionally, 36% of respondents approve of the US president's actions regarding Iran, while 56% oppose them.
Disapproval of Trump's handling of the cost of living stands at 67%, while 26% of Americans approve of his actions.
Trump’s disappointing ratings
A Reuters/Ipsos poll in November of last year showed that Trump's rating is the lowest since his return to power.
The reason is that Americans are dissatisfied with his handling of the high cost of living and the investigation into the late convicted billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
Moreover, earlier reports indicated that nearly half of Europeans (48% of respondents) consider the US president a "Europe's enemy." The highest numbers were recorded in Belgium (62%) and France (57%), while the lowest were in Croatia (37%) and Poland (19%).
Researchers noted that the perception of "Trumpism" as a threat is increasing, while the number of those who view it neutrally has decreased compared to the end of 2024.
