"Zelenskyy is going to have to get moving. Russia wants to make a deal, and Zelenskyy is going to have to get moving. Otherwise, he's going to miss a great opportunity," Trump said.

Russia is not ready for peace

Ukraine, Russia, and the US have held two rounds of peace talks in Abu Dhabi over the past month. During this time, Moscow has shown no signs of being ready to end the war.

The first round of talks took place on January 23–24. On the night of January 24, despite the negotiation process, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on Ukraine. As usual, the enemy targeted energy infrastructure.

The second round of talks was held on February 4–5. This time, too, there was a massive attack by the occupiers—the enemy launched shelling on the night of February 3. The attack almost completely destroyed the Darnytska CHP in Kyiv, leaving over 1,000 residents of the capital without heating until the end of winter.

Meanwhile, according to Russian media, during the negotiations, Russia issued Ukraine a new ultimatum regarding Donbas. They want all participants in the negotiation process to legally recognizethe Donetsk and Luhansk regions as Russian.

At the same time, Ukraine’s position remains unchanged. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the issue of territory, "we honestly stand where we stand." He also rejects withdrawing Ukrainian defenders from the Donetsk region.

The third round of talks is scheduled for next week in Geneva.
