Trump reveals what could push US into attacking Iran again

A deal with Iran that is unfavorable to the United States will become the threshold after which America would be forced to resume military strikes, said President Donald Trump in his interview with Fox News.
During the interview, Trump called Iranians "very good negotiators." At the same time, he noted that ultimately all the leverage in the negotiations lies with the United States.
"A deal that would not be good for us is the line. We’re playing it out—we'll see. They are very good negotiators, they are crafty, but we hold all the cards because we have defeated them militarily," Trump said.
Trump says he will not accept a bad deal
It should be noted that a few hours earlier, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent spoke to the press. He said that a potential US-Iran deal would depend on whether it is supported by President Donald Trump.
Bessent said that everything depends on what the President wants, and Trump is not going to make a bad deal for the American people.
He refused to confirm the terms of any preliminary agreement reached between the sides, but insisted that any deal must meet Trump’s conditions. These include:
- transfer of Iran’s highly enriched uranium;
- Iran’s renunciation of developing nuclear weapons;
- ensuring free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Bessent also downplayed suggestions that the US could lift sanctions on Iran as part of a potential agreement.
He concluded that he thought things would move very slowly in that regard. US Treasury Secretary noted that it was a multilateral agreement, adding that nothing would be discussed until the Strait of Hormuz opened and the Iranians agreed to hand over their highly enriched uranium and acknowledge they did not have a nuclear program.
