Donald Trump has officially expanded the list of countries he threatens with military action. Oman has become the 15th nation on the list of potential or actual targets of the US president, reports CNN.

Analysts have compiled striking statistics: one in every thirteen countries on the planet has been threatened by the US leader in one way or another. Roughly speaking, Trump has threatened every eleventh person on Earth.

Trump has unleashed harsh rhetoric against countries on four continents. His verbal or actual activity spans Africa, Asia, and both Americas. He even technically threatened Denmark when the issue of Greenland’s territory came up.

Real strikes and the list of potential targets

This term, the US has already carried out strikes in seven countries. The US military has attacked targets in Iran and Iraq. Nigeria, Somalia, and Syria have come under fire. Venezuela and Yemen are also on the list of active operations.

In addition to actual attacks, there are also verbal threats for now. The list of countries where Trump does not rule out the use of force includes:

  • Canada;
  • Colombia;
  • Cuba;
  • Mexico;
  • Panama;
  • Denmark;
  • Oman.

Not all of these cases are the same. Some strikes are aimed at terrorists, while other threats concern entire governments. Often, the president simply refuses to rule out the possibility of an attack, keeping the world on edge.

"Madman theory" and US imperial appetites

Despite the absurdity of such statements, experts call this strategy the madman theory. Trump wants to appear unpredictable and believes in the power of fear. In his view, this forces opponents to comply.

Washington’s stance has become extremely belligerent. Five potential targets for US expansion stand out in particular. Trump views these territories as possible additions to the country:

  • Canada;
  • Cuba;
  • Greenland;
  • Panama (including the strategic canal);
  • Venezuela.

Trump seeks to control key points on the planet. He does not want anyone else to own strategic waterways like the Strait of Hormuz, the article concludes.

What other strange statements has Trump made?

Recently, the US president publicly stated that he does not mind being called a tyrant dictator. Trump said outright that such accusations do not bother him at all, because it’s better to be a genius dictator than a stupid one.

Among other recent strange statements is Trump’s suggestion that he might run for Prime Minister of Israel. The US leader claimed he is so popular in Israel that he could become prime minister there.

The US president also promised that a real drone empire would now protect the White House. Trump announced that he would place more drones on the roof of the White House than you have ever seen.
