Trump ready to sit at the negotiating table with Putin and Zelenskyy 'if it's necessary'

US President Donald Trump said he is ready to sit at the negotiating table with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin "if it's necessary", during a press briefing at the White House.
Trump was asked to comment on his statement in which he threatened Putin with "really bad things" and said that the Russian President is "playing with fire."
The American president refused to specify what the potential consequences for Russia would be if the war does not end, but emphasized that "words speak pretty loud."
When asked why he had not imposed sanctions on Russia, Trump replied that he did not want to spoil the chances for a peace agreement, adding that if necessary, he would sit at the negotiating table with Zelenskyy and Putin.
Trump frustrated by Putin's actions
Yesterday, Trump once again criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for delaying peace talks with Ukraine. The American leader threatened Russia with "really bad things."
"What Vladimir Putin doesn't realize is that if it weren't for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He's playing with fire!" Trump emphasized.
Commenting on the recent massive attacks against Ukraine, Trump also stated that the US is definitely considering imposing sanctions on Russia.
"Something has happened to him (Putin). He has gone absolutely CRAZY!" Trump wrote about Putin on Truth Social.
Additionally, the Wall Street Journal reported in early May that US President Donald Trump is disappointed that he hasn't been able to quickly end the war in Ukraine. According to him, resolving the conflict has proven more difficult than he expected.
Moreover, Trump privately told his advisers that Putin does not want to end the war and that both sides are unwilling to compromise.
