US President Donald Trump states that the United States will receive enriched uranium from Iran. He notes that both countries are currently trying to reach an agreement to end the war in the Persian Gulf, according to Reuters.

Responding to questions from journalists, the US leader expresses confidence in resolving the issue of Iran’s nuclear program.

"We're going to get it," Trump tells reporters as he leaves an event at the White House.

The agency notes that one of Trump’s main goals in launching military strikes against Iran was to ensure that Tehran did not develop nuclear weapons. Iran has yet to hand over more than 408 kilograms of highly enriched uranium.

Interestingly, according to US intelligence, the strikes on Iran over the past two months have in no way altered the time it would take Tehran to develop a nuclear weapon.

Background

Earlier, the US President stated that the war with Iran could be completely over in just a week. Trump saw a good chance of reaching an agreement with Tehran.

Trump emphasized that if it didn't end, they would have to go back to bombing Iran to smithereens.

Meanwhile, Iran stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz was safe. However, it noted that this was due to new procedures. But what these procedures were remained unclear.

For his part, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio addressed China. He called on Beijing to convey to the Iranian leadership that the continuation of the conflict is damaging to the Chinese economy.
