Trump plans to visit Russia in the future - White House

US President Donald Trump plans to make a visit to Russia in the future, states White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during a briefing, according to Sky News.
Leavitt said she is "very confident" that Trump will remain optimistic after his meeting with Putin on August 15.
"I think this is a listening exercise for the president. Only one party that's involved in this war is going to be present, so this is for the president to go and get a more firm understanding of how we can hopefully bring this war to an end," she noted.
The White House spokesperson added that the "mechanics and scheduling" of the meeting are still being finalized.
She also stated that Trump plans to visit Russia in the future.
Trump-Putin meeting
On Friday, August 15, US President Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
Yesterday, the US president said he plans to demand that Putin end the war.
At the upcoming meeting with the Russian leader, Trump aims to reach an agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Today, the White House clarified that the Trump-Putin meeting will take place in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska.
