US President Donald Trump plans to approach Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a new proposal favorable to the Kremlin if he complies with Washington's demand regarding Ukraine, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Ukrainian and European officials are outraged by Trump's recent actions and decisions, according to journalists.

Politicians in Kyiv and Brussels believe that the US president has chosen the wrong approach to peace negotiations. They are convinced that the war can only be ended by increasing pressure on Russia, not Ukraine.

Ukraine and the EU also know that Putin will use any economic support from the US to replenish Russia's military budget and continue hostilities.

On October 14, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he felt betrayed by Trump's proposal to buy diesel fuel from Russia.

"It’s a pity that we are losing a strong partner... We can’t be weak. Otherwise we can’t survive," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The problem is that Trump has no intention of stopping his attempts to "appease" the head of the Kremlin.

White House insiders told the media that the US president plans to reduce the intensity of hostilities between Russia and Ukraine and then offer Putin new deals.

According to sources, these would provide Russia with economic and political advantages in exchange for observing a longer-lasting ceasefire with Ukraine. What exactly this would involve has not yet been disclosed.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on how Trump derailed a deal on expanded security guarantees for Ukraine.

According to the media, the US president is now very angry and could halt intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
