Trump suggests US oil as an alternative
Trump said that people are finding alternatives to the Strait of Hormuz.
"You know the alternatives: Texas, Alaska, Louisiana. They (people - ed.) are coming to the United States to get oil," he said.
Trump also assured that the United States has full control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran will not have nuclear weapons
The US president also said that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons.
"You know why? Because they'd use it," he said.
Trump added that the United States would not allow Iran to do so.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that oil prices had been rising for the fourth consecutive day amid conflicting statements from the United States and Iran over reopening the Strait of Hormuz to shipping.
In addition, Trump again discussed his plans to declare the Strait of Hormuz US territory. The president also assured that his country has full control over the waterway.
It was also reported that, in response to the US plans, Tehran said it was prepared to continue blocking the key route. Iran said that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be seized through a social media post, an aircraft carrier, an order, or an election speech.
