US President Donald Trump may not call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump said, according to CNN.

Trump said that if there is progress after his meeting with Putin, he plans to immediately call Zelenskyy to agree with him on a trilateral summit.

"If it's a bad meeting, I'm not calling anybody — I'm going home. … But if it's a good meeting, I'm going to call President Zelenskyy and the European leaders," he specified.

Trump's plan

Yesterday, August 13, before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders.

Following the conversation, the President of Ukraine said that the American leader had proposed calling him after the meeting with Putin in Alaska. According to Zelenskyy, he and Trump want to coordinate further steps.

Trump also promised to call European leaders after speaking with Zelenskyy.

The US President wants to reach an agreement on a trilateral summit during his meeting with Putin. Three locations are currently being considered for this, including Alaska.
