US President Donald Trump wants to use his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska to prepare a summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said, according to CNN.

According to him, the summit in Alaska is essentially preparing a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump emphasized that such a meeting would be "very, very important, because that's going to be a meeting where they make a deal."

Trump said there would be "give and take" on boundaries, land, and other issues, adding that the second meeting would be very important. He described the Alaska meeting as "like a chess game," noting that "this meeting sets up the second meeting, but there is a 25% chance that this meeting will not be a successful meeting."

The American leader also assured that if the meeting is successful, he wants to immediately organize a trilateral summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian state said that Trump had proposed calling him after the meeting with Putin to coordinate joint actions.
