US leader Donald Trump is convinced that Ukraine will lose the Donbas in a short period of time, according to the President's radio interview with Fox News.

When the host noted that the peace plan requires Ukraine to give up the territory it currently controls, Trump responded:

"They will lose it (the territory - ed.) in a short period of time," Trump said.

He emphasized in the interview that Ukraine continues to lose its land.

Trump’s new peace plan for ending the war in Ukraine envisions Russia gaining full de facto control over the Donbas, even though Ukraine still controls about 12% of the region.

The White House believes Ukraine will lose this territory if the war continues.

US peace plan

The US peace plan was developed by President Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, with the support of Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The document contains 28 points.

Some strange phrases in the plan suggest Russian involvement, and Western media suspected that some of them were originally written in Russian.

On November 21, Sky News sources reported that Zelenskyy and Trump will hold a phone call about the plan next week.

Later that evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation regarding the US peace plan. He said the country now faces a very difficult choice, calling it one of the toughest moments in Ukraine’s history.

At the same time, European leaders have already stated that the US peace plan could be called Ukraine’s capitulation, as it contains no real concessions from Russia. European leaders are reportedly preparing their own version of a peace plan.
