Trump makes a forecast about end of Russia’s war against Ukraine

US President Donald Trump admits that Russia’s war against Ukraine may not be brought to an end for a long time, according to the US leader’s statement during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump noted that Russia "does not look very distinguished," as it has already spent three and a half years on the war against Ukraine, despite Moscow’s plans to end it quickly.
"Three and a half years of very hard fighting, and it looks like it's not going to end for a long time," the US president added.
When Russia’s war against Ukraine might end
Earlier, US Vice President J.D. Vance said he hoped the war would end within three to six months. He noted that the continuation of the conflict outrages him.
At the same time, US President’s Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff stated that the US aims to bring the war in Ukraine to an end by the end of the year.
European politicians’ forecasts for peace are more pessimistic. In particular, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani warned that the war in Ukraine should not be expected to end by Christmas.
He stressed that the only real tool against Russia is Western sanctions, which must affect Moscow’s ability to finance the war.
