Trump is losing patience with Putin, Rubio says

US President Donald Trump is losing patience with the fruitless talks to Russian leader Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine, says Secretary of State Marco Rubio in an interview with Fox News.
According to him, the American leader is still interested in seeing the war in Ukraine end. Trump wants to see concrete actions aimed at this goal.
"That wasn't his war, but he wants to see it come to an end," Rubio said.
He added that Trump is disappointed that his interactions and phone calls with Putin are not leading to anything.
"The time has come for some action here, and I think the president has made it clear. He is losing his patience," Rubio added.
Trump gives Putin 50 days
Earlier, US President Donald Trump expressed frustration with Putin over the lack of progress in the peace talks on Ukraine. He promised to impose tough economic measures against Russia if the Kremlin continues to delay the process.
Trump gave Putin 50 days to reach an agreement. Later, he was asked to comment on the tough deadline for Russia. Trump said that it would be "very bad" for Russia if it did not meet the deadline.
He did not rule out imposing restrictions even earlier than 50 days.
Acting US Representative to the United Nations Dorothy Shea also reminded Moscow of Trump's deadline. She noted that the UN Security Council approved a resolution calling for a swift end to the war in Ukraine more than 100 days ago.
