US insists Europe should play key role in Ukraine’s security

US President Donald Trump said that Europe is seeking to resolve the war in Ukraine and must play the leading role in providing security guarantees, according to this statement, while speaking with journalists at the White House.
Trump emphasized that he is ready to assist Ukraine in addressing this issue.
"We'll work that out. We'll help them. But we want to save a lot of lives, so we'll do something with that. I think people expect that. We'll help them,” he said.
At the same time, the US president stressed that Europe must take the lead in providing security guarantees.
“Europe will be first in by far. And they want to be first in. They want to see it end. Europe wants to see it end,” Trump said.
